Speakers or performers use the Confidence Monitor teleprompter rental on stage to reference presentation copy, performance notes, or lyrics. Confidence Monitors can be color/brightness and height adjusted for their speaker and setting. They can also be hidden from the audience.
Where the Presidential Teleprompter is used for speakers standing in place, Confidence Monitors are used for performers or speakers who move around a stage; they are designed for use as points of reference rather than full-speech reading. Clergymen, for example, often use Confidence Monitors to deliver sermons without looking at notes.
Get in touch
We have various-sized confidence monitors, from 32" to 80". If budget is an issue, I would recommend using the Basic Presidential. The larger monitors in the back of the room, depending on size, are generally more expensive than the Basic Presidential and have the following disadvantages:
The speaker appears to be looking out over the heads of the audience. Lack of eye contact which is preserved by the presidential.
Any audience member could inadvertently walk in front of the view of the monitor.
The audience can see the large monitor and see that the speaker is just reading his/her speech
The long cable run can be a trip hazard or be kicked out
As set up and wrap time is longer there may be an issue of overtime.
Confidence Monitor Rental FAQ
What is a Confidence Monitor?
A Confidence Monitor, also known as a Downstage or Rock & Roll Monitor, is a display placed at the front or rear of a stage so performers or speakers can glance at lyrics, script lines, or presentation notes while maintaining eye contact with the audience.
How is it typically used?
Confidence Monitors are designed for speakers or performers who move around the stage, such as singers, comedians, or ministers, providing visual reference without appearing on a fixed podium.
What rental packages and pricing are available?
A basic 32″ Confidence Monitor & stand with operator is available for $945 per 10‑hour day. Additional monitors cost extra:
Additional 32″ unit: $145/day
44″ unit: $225/day
60″ unit: $295/day
The full Confidence Monitor rental, which includes operator support, typically costs $1,295 per day. Each additional monitor is charged at approximately $150/day.
What sizes and configurations are offered?
19″ monitors: placed at the stage-lip for performers needing constant visibility.
32″–36″ monitors: placed off-stage and hidden from audience view.
42″–80″ monitors: used at back-of-room or high positions, offering long-distance reference for roaming performers.
Can the monitors be hidden or visually integrated into the stage?
Yes, Confidence Monitors can be discreetly hidden within cases, covered with non-reflective materials like duvetyne, or camouflaged as speaker cabinets so they don't distract the audience.
Do rentals include an operator and technical support?
Yes. Every rental includes a professional operator who handles setup, brightness/color adjustments, script updates, and wrap-up to ensure smooth operation throughout the day.
How do Confidence Monitors differ from Presidential Teleprompters?
Confidence Monitors are mounted on the stage floor or rear and are ideal for performers who move or roam.
Presidential Teleprompters consist of glass panels on either side of a podium designed for stationary speakers near a lectern.
How do I book and submit materials?
You can reserve a Confidence Monitor by filling out the contact form on the American Movie Company site, or by calling or emailing their team. You'll then receive instructions for script submission, equipment details, and any necessary technical coordination.
