Hard to believe that Comic Con NYC came and went already. Seems like just yesterday it was March and my friend pitched me her game plan for the long weekend. It’s New York Comic Con, you have to have a game plan well in advance if you want to get those tickets on time, have your cosplay ready and neat, also figure out your route throughout the weekend, trains are packed. If you’re a Comic Con enthusiast and a New Yorker, going to Comic Con is a trek and sometimes you miss the departure. Lucky for you, the internet exists and you can read all about it here!

Comic Con Is Over But It Left Us These Trailers

Many interesting looking trailers dropped this Comic Con weekend. Fans are excited about a first glimpse of the new Walking Dead spinoff, a new look at Star Trek: Picard and a trailer for Apple TV+ mysterious M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller, Servant.

The Walking Dead Universe: New Series Trailer

A long trailer for a show that does not have a name yet, or at least that we know of. This new Walking Dead spinoff is to come out around Spring of 2020 and from the looks of it, this show will be a bit lighter in tone than the typical Walking Dead we’ve come to love and hate.

This new series featuring a younger cast appears to take place a decade after the apocalypse where things have more or less calmed down. A little different but the zombies are still there, they just have some moss on them (around min 1:37), other than that they’re looking as grotesque and decomposed as always. Are you excited for this new Walking Dead spinoff or do you think the hype has worn off? Will this show bring zombies into the spotlight once more? These are the questions we ask while we wait for this series to drop, try to stay tuned.

Star Trek: Picard Trailer

CBS All Access is coming straight for your trekkie heart with this new nostalgia-filled trailer for Star Trek: Picard.

Patrick Stewart beamed into the Jacob Javits Center for New York Comic Con this past weekend with a few friends and a spectacular new look at Star Trek: Picard. Building on the complex world we saw established in its first trailer, decades after the events of Star Trek: NemesisStar Trek: Picard premieres January 23, only on CBS All Access.
But wait, there’s more Star Trek coming your way as we also got a new teaser Trailer for Star Trek: Discovery Season 3. Check it out.

Star Trek: Discovery – Season 3 Teaser Trailer

It looks like there’s a lot coming for Trekkies in 2020, the new Season of Star Trek: Discovery is also set to premiere this coming year on CBS ALL Access. Star of the show, Sonequa Martin-Green introduced the teaser trailer above to fans at Madison Square Garden.

Star Trek: Discovery’s season 3 comes right off the heels of an innovative season 2 finale where the crew of the Discovery was launched 930 years into the future. Things aren’t looking good for the Discovery crew as they are now faced with the possibility of never returning to the time period to which they belong.

While we’re at it, might as well continue with the future in space stuff and talk about The Expanse teaser trailer that was also dropped at NY Comic Con last weekend.

The Expanse – Season 4 Teaser Trailer

In case you’re not all that familiar with this series, here’s an outline.

Hundreds of years into the future after humans colonized the solar system and Mars has become an independent military power, tensions between Earth and Mars have put them on the brink of war.  That’s the setup where the story takes place. A police detective in the asteroid belt, the first officer of an interplanetary ice freighter and an Earth-bound United Nations executive slowly discover a vast conspiracy that threatens the Earth’s rebellious colony on the asteroid belt. The investigation leads them on a race across the solar system that could expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

The series has gathered popularity and a loyal fan base since its release in 2015 on the SyFy channel, but was experiencing cancellation threats until Amazon Prime picked it up for a fourth season, and that’s where we are now. Fans have been eagerly waiting for season 4.  It will be available on Amazon Prime December 13th.

However, we are not done with space talk just yet, it looks like a new season of space shows is on the rise. Wondering if this has anything to do with Space Travel being a tangible idea since Elon Musk’s reveal of Space X’s new Starship prototype.

Lost In Space – Season 2 Trailer

Netflix’s rebooted Lost In Space season 2 trailer also dropped this past weekend at NY Comic Con. This time around the Robinsons are off looking for a robot that would appear to have been lost… in space, I suppose. The most compelling part about this trailer to me is the What a Wonderful World piano instrumental begging us to connect to this show’s sentimental plot line, about the missing robot? I don’t know, but it looks like there’s a lot of CGI involved in this one, which I always liked on Netflix series, really trying to see how far they’ll take it on their attempt to give us newly reimagined shows.

Speaking of Netflix’s reimagined shows, let us remind you that the new Breaking Bad Movie is coming out on Netflix soon. Watch the trailer for it here.

In the past we’ve talked about the Streaming war that’s about to break out with Apple and Disney joining Amazon, Netflix and Hulu on the market for online media streaming services. It looks like it’s on its way to be chaotic, but while things are still nice, here’s something we can look forward to, Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 on Hulu.

Marvel’s Runways – Season 3

While the focus has been heavily directed to Marvel’s upcoming shows on Disney+, the new Disney Streaming service, Marvel’s Runaways is returning to Hulu for a third season before those other shows hit. Not only that, but this time, Cloak and Dagger from their Freeform series of the same name will be making a crossover, which is as Marvel as it gets if you ask me.

Also while I’m in the business of dropping relevant links, here’s a link to an article where we talk about the possible new stories coming from Marvel to theaters in the near future.

Now let’s continue talking about these new Streaming Services and their offerings. Apple TV+ comes through with a new thriller, here’s the trailer for Servant.

Servant – “Solitude” – Teaser Trailer

M. Night Shyamalan’s creepy teaser for his upcoming Apple TV Plus thriller, Servant is unsettling. M. Night Shyamalan’s Apple TV+ series unveiled its release date – November 28, Thanksgiving Day- and debuted its first full trailer during “A Night With M.Night,” Apple TV+’s key event at New York Comic Con. This particular trailer is not available for the online community just yet and that’s why you just got the teaser above.

Although most of the series still remains a mystery, the event helped to shed some light on what this “Servant” position could possibly be about. The premise is that a Philadelphia couple in mourning after the death of their baby decides that the only way to cope with this tragedy is through something Shyamalan called a “fringe therapy”: pretending their baby is still alive by replacing her with a doll. While the husband goes along with it, he becomes more skeptical when they decide to hire a nanny to care for the doll.

Seems creepy, right?  I’ve seen something with a similar premise on Netflix, a movie called The Boy (2016). I figured I’d bring that up, but I’m not too sure it’s the same plot since so much of this Servant thriller is still under wraps.

Lastly, it wouldn’t be Comic Con without the cosplayers. I encountered plenty of them on my commute this past weekend, and many tried faces on the way home. The absolute best was watching Green Lantern scroll through his phone looking exhausted from a lived day in the New York Comic Con scene, scrunched over on the Brooklyn bound train just like the rest of us mortal folk. Anyway, looks like it’s going to be a good season for us to stay home daydreaming about space and watching all these Streaming Services go at it with each other. Popcorn anyone?
