Why Do People Like to Watching Cooking Shows?
Today’s cooking shows are the same as of early-2000s talk shows. You’re bound to see one on television. It could be a rerun of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives in which Guy Fieri dines at a deep-Texas restaurant, or it could be the most recent episode of a cooking or baking competition.
Why are people hypnotized by egg-whisking and burger-flipping when a cooking show is on? It turns out that science and psychology have a lot more to do with it than you might think.
Cooking has long been a part of entertainment. Culinary shows, on the other hand, served an educational purpose from the 1940s to the 1950s. In the 1950s, for example, television was used to provide housewives with simple cooking instructions. Julia Child’s show The French Chef featured her cooking difficult-to-replicate recipes in the 1960s.
